Each Ace store is independently
owned and operated by local entrepreneurs, hard-working, passionate
business owners who are involved with and, many times, reside in the
communities where their stores are. There's a good chance you'll see
your local Ace store owner at the grocery store or Little League game.
Ace stores - nationwide, 4,400 of them - come in all sizes and shapes.
We have small, urban stores, large rural stores and everything in
between. Ace stores offer a wide variety of home improvement products,
plus niche items and services relevant to the community. And of course,
every Ace store offers that famous friendly, expert advice and service
that sets Ace stores apart from all the rest.
Ace will celebrate its 85th anniversary in 2009. The company was created
by a small group of Chicago hardware store owners who joined together to
purchase merchandise in bulk to save money and buy at the lowest
possible price. This enabled even the smaller stores to compete
effectively at retail despite larger stores in their market. For more
details, visit the Company History section under the News Room link.
Of course, Ace has many store owners in its family of entrepreneurs who
joined well after their businesses were established, such as Emigh Ace
Hardware in Sacramento, Calif., which celebrated its 100 year in
business earlier in 2008 and Wagner Ace Hardware in Ulysses, Pa., which
celebrated 96 years in business this year.
We hope you find this Web site helpful, whether you're hunting for a
special tool or looking for help with a particular project. And while
Acehardware.com is a great place to shop, it's no substitute for the
service you'll get from the knowledgeable and friendly store associates
at your local Ace Hardware store. Ace store owners take pride in the
time and effort they put into making their stores the most helpful
hardware stores on the planet.
Thanks for your interest in Ace. The Helpful Place.
